Functional Confusion

Updated: Jul 25, 2020

Surrounding all the questions, parents and Educators must answer the call and need of what is requested. The ultimate question is will they educate or DIE TRYING....

Should I buy uniforms for school or a 3-piece suit for his casket, one parents asks themselves. Sheila's twelve-year-old son is headed to 6th grade and the increasingly amount of nerves and anxiety that is felt is more than one person can likely stand. "His smile fades with each day", Sheila states as she blankly gazes out of a window.

Currently numbers, throughout the United States tower over the 4 million mark with no sure evidence of halting. A pandemic that swiftly began for most, in March, has now gained momentum and placed many states on a "Hot List". Even with these present truths and dangers, parents have to set up plans of action in efforts to acquire education for their children.

Simultaneously, two-parent households that were once confident in their monthly wages, have been struck with the loss of jobs and being threatened with one parents staying home to assist in the virtual learning that is set to take place. Let's back up a bit as there is an entire issue on the hearts of parental figures as well as Educators. Will there even be options where students can STILL gain knowledge within or outside of the classroom setting? The immense chaos that IS the educational system renders a lack of foundations for ANYONE to stand on! Have you asked yourself which lane would you travel. Would you allow your child(ren) to go into a school-setting where there are hundreds (or thousands) of potential carriers that is killing all nationalities, all ages, without any sort of leniency, today?

Parents are having to jump off of life's cliffs merely for the betterment of their children and there is a possibility that the students may bring home more than ELA homework. Deep thoughts and constant stress are added to lives that may already be overflowing with lava from volcanoes of just being an adult, itself.

How is your school system handling this situation? How are you as a parent enduring? What are your plans?

Think about this.. How well can an educated child serve his/her purpose as a future leader if their future is stolen due to a virus that they were thrown in the pathway of???

I could not agree with this more! My children have attended private school since Pre-K and they are going into the 4th and 6th grades. Our schools are very small and probably pretty well equipped to handle the return of students but I just cannot take the chance! I struggled with my decision for some time but with the new semester quickly approaching it was finally time to make a decision. I chose to homeschool my children for the 2020-2021 school year. I realize I am fortunate I can make that decision for my family as a stay-at-home mom. For anyone looking for faith based homeschool curriculum masterbooks.com is a great resource! I am very nervous about this new chapter bu…
